From designing the restaurant, hiring the staff, setting the menu to combatting competition from premium five star restaurants in the city, Bobby Chinn is all set to guide the viewers to what goes into making a fine restaurant.

A six part series, RESTAURANT BOBBY CHINN will air every Wednesday at 10:30 PM starting 5th September only on TLC.

RESTAURANT BOBBY CHINN follows Bobby Chinn as he maneuvers his way around architects, designers and even a feng shui master to complete his restaurant on time and within budget. Join Bobby as he scours Vietnam for the freshest local ingredients and unearths inspiration in surprising places to create his new menu.

RESTAURANT BOBBY CHINN begins with construction chaos, a missing kitchen and a looming deadline for the soft launch of his high-end restaurant. Bobby gets creative with his only option of raw food and explores the local market and mushroom farm for sustainable ingredients. In typical Asian style, no living space is complete without advice from a feng shui master and this throws a spanner in the works as Bobby faces potential massive renovation alterations that might delay his soft launch.

Rahul Johri, Senior Vice President and General Manager – South Asia, Discovery Networks Asia-Pacific, said, “TLC has pioneered lifestyle programming in the country and continues to push the bar by presenting new formats to viewers. We are delighted to present yet another dimension of cuisine related programming with one of India’s favourite television hosts- Bobby Chinn. Restaurant with Bobby Chinn goes beyond the cooking to showcase what goes in to creating a world class restaurant.”

Temperatures rise as Bobby grapples with graphic designers tasked to create the brand logo for his prized restaurant. Faced with insurmountable pressure with competition from 5-star hotels, Bobby needs to quickly train his staff to raise their game. Frustration continues to build up with ventilation issues, staff resignations, and budget woes. To top it off, Bobby has ambitious plans to mark his restaurant’s arrival on the city’s fine dining scene and decides to find a first-class musical act for his grand opening.

While the newly installed high-tech kitchen takes shape, the bar requires serious work before any guest can enjoy a drink. The clock keeps ticking but Bobby takes time out and ventures beyond Ho Chi Minh City to visit a rice farmer who inspires Bobby to add an alcoholic twist to an old favourite bar food dish.
