Turner launches truTV in Singapore

truTV, the latest channel in Turner's ever expanding bouquet of entertainment brands, will make its Asian debut on StarHub in Singapore on April 1, 2010.

Bringing to Asia for the first time a completely new genre ' actuality ' truTV unleashes television at its most personal where nothing is staged, re-enacted or contrived. The channel puts viewers in the centre of the action where they are transported to places they would never normally experience.

"truTV offers an innovative and unique mix of programming unlike anything else on television. It features unscripted content that's so genuine we needed a whole new way to describe it, actuality," said Sunny Saha, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Turner Entertainment Networks Asia.

Singaporean viewers can feast on a gripping line up of series that are sure to evoke a broad range of emotions. Programming highlights include The Smoking Gun Presents, which recently ranked number one in the US among all ad-supported cable networks*; The Principal's Office, The Investigators, Hollywood Justice and Speeders.

"truTV is one of the most popular channels in the US and we're confident that it will be just as popular here. We've adapted truTV to reflect the preferences of Asian audiences, creating a compelling entertainment experience that will captivate viewers," said Sunny.

The addition of truTV to Turner's entertainment bouquet in Asia follows closely on the company's recent acquisition of Hindi GEC Imagine TV and its brands Imagine Showbiz and Lumiere Movies in India, bringing the number of channels under the Turner banner to 13.

truTV will continue its roll out throughout the region in the coming months with additional launch markets to be announced at a later date.
