Virgin Mobile's GSM network in Maharashtra, Coming Soon!

Virgin Mobile GSMs services soon to come in Maharashtra as well. Recently, the mobile company has announced that they plan to launch the GSM services in the Maharashtra and Mumbai circles as well. And, as always it will offer competitive prepaid plans to young consumers.

Global System for Mobile communication (GSM) ' it's a cellular network, which means that mobile phones connect to it by searching for cells in the immediate vicinity.

Virgin Mobile has collaborated with DoCoMo to offer its GSM services. It has also roped in two Bollywood stars - Ranbir Kapoor and Genelia D' Souza as brand ambassadors for the GSM proposal.

However, the areas where they plan to launch the GSM network is already covered by Virgin Mobile's CDMA network. However, Virgin Mobile's GSM network will offer competitive prepaid plans to young consumers. Subscribers across Maharashtra and Mumbai will be charged 20 paise per minute for Virgin-to-Virgin calls across any circles.

Another option the consumers have is to opt for another plan ' at a recharge of Rs 12 the consumers can make all local and STD calls at 1 paise per second. The subscribers will also get a talk time of Rs 10.88 which will be valid for a year. One local SMS will cost 50 paise and National SMS Rs 1. Roaming charges will be 60 paise per minute. Besides all above, Virgin is also offering two SMS pack options priced at Rs. 33 and Rs. 69.
