Walt Disney CEO Bob Iger to step down in 2026

The current CEO of Walt Disney, Bob Iger, is set to transition out of his role by the end of 2026. Having previously taken a step back from the CEO position in November 2022, where he was succeeded by Bob Chapek, Iger had initially announced his retirement less than a year before. At that time, he committed to contributing to the growth of the business over a period of two years.

Disney also announced that it is refreshing its Board of Directors, including the appointments of James P. Gorman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Morgan Stanley, and Sir Jeremy Darroch, a veteran media executive and former Group Chief Executive of Sky, as new directors, as the result of a lengthy and comprehensive search that began in April of this year.
Disney board member Francis A. deSouza has decided not to stand for reelection at the annual meeting.
