Whatsapp rolls out search-by-date function to look for messages, docs

Now, searching one’s WhatsApp chats has been made even easier with the search-by-date function. Users can simply choose a date and skip to all messages sent from that date onwards. Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, announced this feature recently on his Whatsapp Channel.

Search by date is rolling out now on Android devices, and is already available on iOS, Mac desktop and WhatsApp Web. For this, users need to click into any chat, tap the contact or group name at the top, and click ‘Search’ to choose which date they would like to skip to.

Users can also look for media, links and docs within their Whatsapp chats. For this, one needs to click into any chat, tap the contact or group name at the top, and click ‘Media Links and Docs’ to toggle between the three.
