15,000 Families Walk for Health with Max Bupa in Delhi and Mumbai

Max Bupa Health Insurance hosted the third edition of its flagship event, Max Bupa Walk for Health in Delhi and Mumbai today. The Mumbai edition of the walk was flagged off by actor and health icon, Shilpa Shetty Kundra. She was joined by famous toon characters Chhota Bheem and Ben10 in the two kilometre walk flag off for children and senior citizens. Max Bupa Walk for Health is a first of its kind initiative which has been educating families about the benefits of walking to bring about a positive and long term sustainable behavioural change in their health and overall wellbeing.

The event witnessed an overwhelming participation of more than 15,000 families, who pledged to incorporate more walking into their daily routine, in Delhi and Mumbai. The event also saw 5000 school children, large walking communities, colleges and corporates participate in huge numbers. Over the last three years, Max Bupa has encouraged more than 60,000 people in the country to walk regularly. Dr. Harsh Vardhan, Hon’ble Union Minister of Health & Family Welfare, Manasije Mishra, CEO, Max Bupa and Rahul Khosla, MD, Max India flagged off the walk in Delhi.

Flagging off the third edition of the Max Bupa Walk for Health, Shilpa Shetty Kundra said, “With multiple health benefits, walking is the easiest and most effective forms of exercise which can be undertaken by everyone in the family. But, due to our busy and stressful lifestyle, we, especially women and mothers, often neglect our health. I am a firm believer in staying fit and walking is an intrinsic part of my fitness regime. Max Bupa Walk for Health is a great initiative as it encourages families to adopt the healthy habit of walking and also promotes family bonding, which can be achieved by adding a few minutes of walking into our daily routine. I urge everyone, including men, women and children, to step up and start walking more for a healthier and happier life.”

The event was attended by people of different age groups including celebrities, health enthusiasts, school children, customers, agents, partners and employees of Max Group companies with their friends and family. Celebrities like Pooja Bedi and Kunal Kohli among others also participated in Max Bupa Walk for Health in Mumbai. Also a host of leading brands like Gold’s Gym, Dabur, Aava, Yakult, and GoQii, among others associated with the annual initiative this year. Max Bupa Walk for Health 2014 offered a plethora of entertainment and fitness activities for the participants.
