ABC's "This Week with Christiane Amanpour' to premier on BBC World News

The weekly current-affairs programme "This Week with Christiane Amanpour ', which airs on ABC News in the USA, will now broadcast weekly on BBC World News, bringing an alternative viewpoint on the week's political happenings to international audiences.

From its home at the Newseum in Washington DC, USA, the topical show will feature analysis of national politics and policies in the USA and around the world, along with high profile newsmaker interviews, panel discussions and international perspectives on the big stories of the week.

"This Week with Christiane Amanpour' will broadcast weekly on Sundays, 18:10GMT on BBC World News to audiences in Europe, South Asia and the Middle East.

Christiane Amanpour is a highly respected international journalist, with a wealth of experience including over two decades reporting from some of the world's major conflicts, including those in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Somalia, Rwanda, and the Balkans. She has interviewed world leaders from Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, including former British Prime Minister Tony Blair, Iranian presidents Mohammad Khatami and Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, as well as the presidents of Afghanistan, Sudan, Syria, and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat among others.
