ACKO's Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, First Asian to Take the Helm at World Car Committee

 Siddharth Vinayak Patankar, the Chief Creative Officer of ACKO & Editor-in-Chief of ACKO Tech, assumes the prestigious position of the Chairperson at the World Car Committee, making him the first individual from Asia.

 In his role as the Chairman, Siddharth will bring in his rich experience and expertise in the automotive space to guide the steering committee and the global jury. He will lead the World Car Awards jury that comprises 100+ global jurors to recognize, reward, and inspire outstanding achievements, leadership, and pioneering advancements within the ever-evolving worldwide automotive sector. Siddharth will work towards making sure that the World Car Awards maintain its number 1 position and uphold ethical standards of transparency and fair play. He will also facilitate the celebrations of the 20th year anniversary of the awards in 2024.

 Siddharth joined the World Car Awards jury in 2010 and was the only Indian juror on board at that time. In 2015, he was inducted into the steering committee as a director, signifying his growing influence within the organization. His dedication and contributions led to his promotion to the position of Executive Director in 2019. Notably, in 2022, he assumed a pivotal role within the World Car Awards Administration, being appointed as the Vice Chair, thus making history as the first Indian to hold this esteemed position.

 Siddharth's remarkable journey from a juror representing India to the Chairperson of the World Car Committee underscores his commitment to advancing the automotive industry's global standards and promoting excellence in automotive design, performance, and innovation. His achievements are not only a testament to his individual success but also a source of pride for the entire Asian and Indian automotive community.

 The World Car Committee that organizes World Car Awards was inaugurated in 2003, and officially launched in January 2004, with the mission of reflecting the reality of the global automotive marketplace. The jurors from all over the world test drive and evaluate new or fully redesigned vehicles that are for sale in more than one continent. The jurors evaluate the cars for different award categories like World Car Design, World Luxury Car, World Performance Car, World Urban Car, World Electric Vehicle and World Car of the Year.
