TravelMartIndia, recently announced the launch of India's first group buying portal for travel, leisure and vacation destinations- Vamoose.in. Vamoose.in's platform has been developed and run by "EL Media', a UK-based technology company that has perfected the group-buying model across the globe.

It was launched in early March and already had positive response from the airline industry, hotels and spas.

Adgully caught up with Manoj Gursahani, MD, Vamoose.in, to find out more about the new and unique concept and about how will the company take this forward.

Talking about Vamoose.in and the e-ticket buying space, Gursahani, says, "Vamoose is the first Group buying travel site in India and we are the first movers in this space. The e-ticket buying space is the hottest category in the e-commerce space."

Elaborating on the marketing initiatives to promote the new concept, he says, "We have taken a conscious decision to base our customer acquisition through the Online and Social Media Marketing Channels like Facebook, Google, Linkedin , Twitter etc . This is very cost effective and will allow us to pass the maximum benefits to be passed to our customers . We feel that in the final analysis the customer is the most important aspect and the word of mouth is very powerful."

Being an online buying platform aren't there any security issues that keeps many customers at bay?

Gursahani says, "Currently the fraud levels are almost negligible and with new aspects like VBV and Mastersecure the security issues are almost ironed out. Also we are SSL secured ."

He acknowledges that the key challenges for the portal at this point in time is to create awareness amongst the Vendors and Clients about the Group buying concept. Gursahani adds the portal's engagement methodology with the consumers is going to be through channels like Facebook , Twitter etc. "In fact we have integrated the Facebook app in our site. To cite an example we had recently published a Egypt deal which was very good , but through Facebook interactions we were told that the timing is not right and that the deal should be pulled out. Based on this feedback we took a conscious decision to pull out the deal," he adds.

As roadmap for the portal, Gursahani points out, "We have already taken the first mover advantage in the Group buying travel space and with the help of our Technology partners El Media which are based in the UK, we will keep enhancing our site as we go along and adopt disruptive technology to remain the market leader in the Group buying space."

Vamoose.in being the only Travel site offering Group buying in the Travel space in India and currently there being no other competition Gursahani feels that it has edge over other portals offering ticketing services.
