Sony and Imagine see a sharp decline in GRP and Channel Share: TAM

The latest TAM data has seen a repetition of channel names along the top 10 GEC shows' list. The list is dominated by the top three channels Star Plus, Colors and Zee TV. Sony Entertainment Channel (SET) and SAB have not been able to feature on the list this time around with any of its shows.

While SAB has been able to maintain the number five position with a decent Channel Share (CS) of 10.1%, its Gross Rating Points (GRP) has been reduced to 124. On the other hand, SET has lost on substantial number of GRP and CS though getting back into the 4th position. The channel is far behind Zee TV which is at number three. SET's GRP and CS for this week is 133 and 10.8% respectively compared to its last week's GRP of 140 and CS of 11.4%.

Zee TV on the other hand is the number three GEC and has a GRP and CS of 203 and 16.5% respectively. Zee TV's Pavitra Rishta is the top show across all GECs this week too. The show is placed at number one with a TVR of 6.61%, with not a single close competition to a show. The other shows from the channel's offering like Yahan Mein Ghar Ghar Kheli (TVR- 5.11%) and Jhansi Ki Rani (TVR- 3.58%) is placed at number two and ten respectively.

Colors is at number two with an increased GRP and CS of 235 and 19.1% respectively. Moreover, this week Na Aana Is Des Meri Laado (TVR- 4.24%), Uttaran (TVR- 4.16%), Laagi Tujhse Lagan (TVR-4.15%) and Balika Vadhu (TVR-4.11%) from Colors' wide offering are amongst the top 10 shows and placed at number 4, 6, 7 and 8 respectively.

Star Plus is the number one channel across all Hindi GECs yet again. The channel's GRP and CS is 275 and 22.4%. Star Plus this time around has three of its shows amongst the top 10 shows across channels. Saathiya Saath Nibhana , Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hain and Pratigya from Star Plus have made it to the list of the top 10 shows.

This week as a major change in ratings DD1 is number six channel with a GRP and CS of 97 and 7.9% , while Imagine has been pushed to number seven with a GRP and CS of 69 and 5.6% respectively. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
