Adgully Exclusive | Learn from the great brands covered by Storyboard: CNBC-TV18's Anuradha Sengupta

Storyboard, CNBC-TV18's most influential & longest running flagship TV show on advertising and marketing, will be completing 10 years this May.

Since its launch in 2001 it has analyzed the marketing function and looked up close at the business of brands. With in-depth reports and exclusive interviews, Storyboard is a must watch for everybody passionate about brands; from CEOs to creative people to students.

Talking about initially starting off with the show, Anuradha Sengupta, Features Editor, CNBC-TV18, tells Adgully, "Storyboard was started in 2001, that's a year after CNBCTV18 launched. It was the pioneering business channel's attempt to serve different, specialized needs of viewers. It was really quite easy to generate content for the show because 2001 marked the start of a seminal decade in the way brands were built and consumers/customers were served in India. There was so much happening in the business."

"We have strived to deliver the best possible content in the space and I am glad the advertisers have constantly supported us through the years," she adds.

So what has really worked for the show to be successfully running for 10 glorious years?

Sengupta says, "The consistency with which we have showcased brands and the marketing function in the context of the needs of business and of society. The dogged ability to ask probing questions and be fair and impartial in our coverage. All these factors have contributed positively to make the show successful."

CNBCAWAAZ, also launched the advertising and marketing world's favourite show "Storyboard' in Hindi in May 2010. The move was aimed at targeting a diverse and larger Hindi speaking audience and analysing the latest trends in marketing and consumer behaviour through biggest names in the advertising and marketing fraternity.

Storyboard in its Hindi avatar will continue to showcases in-depth reports on the Advertising & Marketing Industry, through exclusive interviews with the industry stalwarts from the fraternity, thought provoking features on creativity and marketing strategy.

Talking excitedly on the show's 10th anniversary, Sengupta says, "A quite pride and satisfaction. In the process of delivering this show for 10 years we have created a brand for which we have a lot of exciting initiatives planned. Over the next month you will see `Storyboard Ab Hindi Mein' on CNBC Awaaz that will demystify the world of marketing to consumers and the `Storyboard Consumer Awards' also on CNBC Awaaz. And that's just the start."

All through the month of May Storyboard is celebrating its tenth anniversary. The show will have four special shows that evaluate the changes over the past decade and get the custodians of some of the biggest brands in the country to talk about the relevance of brands and marketing and their unique experience over the past ten years. Some of the guests include Piyush Pandey, Adi Godrej, K V Kamath, Martin Sorrell, Sam Balsara, Nitin Paranjpe, Ravinder Zutshi, Sanjay Kapoor, Rajiv Bajaj and Vinita Bali.

So how will the team at Storyboard take the standing legacy of 10 years forward?

Sengupta says, "We have a spanking new set and will just focus on doing what we have been doing with renewed enthusiasm and rigour."

When asked what is the success mantra for Storyboard, Sengupta adds while signing off, "Learn from the great brands we cover." | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
