Adgully speaks exclusively to Christian Leone, Vice President, Brand Relations, Gilt Groupe. Prior to Gilt, Leone worked with Giorgio Armani.

While on his trip to Mumbai, Leone scanned the Indian design market for designers that would, according to him resonate with the Gilt Groupe customer in the US as, there is a demand for more traditional Indian apparel with some western influences.

Leone foresees tremendous growth in the Indian market just as how it has been for America. According to him there seems to be a demand for fashion however has very little access to get this in India excluding the larger cities. He adds, "I would think that there will be many online companies popping up in the next year or two."

Leone also commented on the service of "invitation only shopping" that the Gilt Groupe provides. He says that this doesn't not limit their scope of revenue and by doing so they maintain a sense of exclusivity with the members who join because of Gilt.

"Listen to what they want. They can provide the best advice", says Leone when asked if he would like to advice upcoming talent in the industry.
