Adgully Exclusive | Will not limit ourselves to give one particular style of storytelling: Colors' Prashant Bhatt

The whole focus would be to push the envelope, give more creative and interesting content, increase our reach and not limit ourselves to give one particular style of storytelling; Colors' Prashant Bhatt.

Prashant Bhatt, who recently joined Colors as fiction head and started his tenure from December 1, knows going forward he has his work cut out. He understands in this weekly race for ratings he needs to collect his thoughts and be geared up to face the weekly ups and downs. With the launch of a new show , Bhatt would wants to strengthen the legacy further. On the occasion of the launch of Colors' new show, 'Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha', produced by Sunshine Productions, which is already on air now, Adgully caught up with Prashant Bhatt, Fiction Head, Colors to more about his vision and thoughts about the new show and also how he plans to strategize ahead.

Bhatt says, "The show truly supports the legacy of Colors, to stand out different. The basic point of creating something like this; firstly, is to go beyond our regular content and a channel like "Colors' has always believed in pushing the envelope a little more and secondly, to contribute to the society by way of telling story for television screens which not just diverts your attention from mundane but; something which is an eye-opener/ refreshing and entertaining as well."

"'Na Bole Tum Na Maine Kuch Kaha', Colors' new show is a fresh and light hearted show featuring the journey of two diverse personalities with different ideologies and lifestyles and how fate orchestrates their lives in such a way that they are perpetually pitted against each other.

Speaking about the show and the thought behind the whole concept, Bhatt said, "The show is really refreshing and exciting. It is all about "Life is what happens when you are busy planning other things.' We have set certain agendas in our lives but who knows what life has planned for us? At times at the most crying circumstances, people you can't stand by are the ones who stand by you. At times two different personas, which are so not mean to be together, are actually good for each other. So life is actually trying to tell these people to open their arms and accept the change."

Further explaining his point, Bhatt said, "The show has a very optimistic approach towards life. The entire set-up of the show is very different and has a urban setting as per the demand of the story. At the end of the day, the idea is to have a very interesting story and there are certain shows which demand a different kind of set up. The show as of now has been shot mostly in Indore in MP."

"The show takes on a prime time slot of 10.30 pm that was earlier occupied by Bigg Boss Season 5, and we are sure that the story will strike a chord with the viewers thereby further building the weekday slot," Bhatt added.

Telling about the back drop, which is Indore, he said, "Basically the story demanded some place like Indore but the way of relating with the show is really universal."

When asked to talk about the upcoming shows in the year, he told us that there is lot in the pipeline. This show is like a new baby of Colors for 2012. The whole focus would be to push the envelope, give more creative and interesting content, increase our reach and not limit ourselves to give one particular style of storytelling."

With an industry experience over a decade as a writer and creative director of various successful fiction properties, Bhatt has headed various production houses which not only include Balaji Telefilms, but also Rajshri Productions, Cinevistas, Creative Eye, AK Films, UTV and Shreya Creations. | By Aanchal Kohli [aanchal(at)adgully.com]
