Adgully First | RK Arora bids adieu to India TV

You are reading this first on Adgully. RK Arora has bid adieu to India TV. He handled duties as a Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO). He has been a part of the channel since its inception.

In late 2009 the channel saw a restructuring of sorts when Arora, just Executive Director then, was given the additional responsibilities of a CFO. Arora confirmed the news to Adgully, saying he wanted to explore a few new things on his own. He said that in a fortnight's time he will be able to disclose his concrete plans.

His career in media has spanned over 14 years as he saw the medium slowly evolve to its full form. He was one of the leaders in making the channel a leader in the Hindi news market. The channel rose from being a newly launched channel to a tough competitor in a short span and since then has maintained its strong viewership.

In September last year India TV reportedly became the No. 1 Hindi news channel. In the Week 37 with a 17.2 per cent channel share in relative terms, the channel was ahead of Aaj Tak in the CS 15+ category in all Hindi speaking markets. Moreover, 12 news shows of India TV's offerings were amongst the top 20 news shows. | By Prabha Hegde [prabha(at)adgully.com]
