Radio Mirchi, kick-started its Purani Jeans Film Festival by showcasing one of the greatest films of all time ' "Sholay'!

Always popular for pioneering unique activation programs and shows, this time also, Radio Mirchi received an enthusiastic response from its fans, as it flagged off the Purani Jeans Film Festival.

Delhiites gave a thunderous welcome to the start of the Purani Jeans Film Festival by turning out in droves to watch the eternal blockbuster of all time, "Sholay' at Big Cinema ' Odeon, a theatre which has been the spectator of all legendry blockbusters of the yesteryears. The retro ambience, the golden tunes playing at the background, the presence of the stars made it a gala affair to cherish forever.

To recreate the mesmerizing charm of "Sholay' once again, the venue was resplendent with the look and feel of "Sholay'. With the popular hits of "Yeh dosti hum nahi chorenge' to "Mehbooba Mehbooba', the listeners were seen having a blast with their favourite RJs, interacting with them and having a ball at the renewed "Sholay' era.

The magic, the splendour, the brilliance that is "Sholay was once again cherished by everyone, on big screen! The Mirchi fans also witnessed the industry veterans and the important architects behind the success of "Sholay' ' Ramesh Sippy (Director) and Mr. Javed Akhtar (Co-Writer) who graced the occasion with their presence.

Present at the event, Javed Akhtar said, "Sholay has achieved the pinnacle of fame and popularity due to its great acting, brilliant music and terrific dialogues. Purani Jeans Film Festival is a great way to pay tribute to the classic films of yesteryears and the evergreen superstars. The creator of "Sholay', Ramesh Sippy made the evening more special with his presence at the screening. The veteran director commented, "It's a great effort by Radio Mirchi to bring across the magic of the golden years to the young and old alike by recreating that era in such a grand fashion. "Sholay' has been made with a lot of heart, soul and effort and I am delighted to revisit the splendour once again."
