Anne Hathaway and Roger Federer turned down – by Swiss nature.

The Grand Tour of Switzerland is being promoted by Roger Federer. Together with Oscar winner Anne Hathaway, Switzerland Tourism's global brand ambassador stars in the tourism marketing organization's latest film. However, in this new film, Federer is confronted with an unpleasant surprise. No one, he is told, is greater than the film's true star, the Grand Tour of Switzerland, which combines the best of Switzerland into an unequalled road trip. The film is now available for viewing on the internet all around the world.

With a film starring Roger Federer and Oscar winner Robert De Niro, Switzerland Tourism created a worldwide sensation a year ago. What sticks in the mind is that Federer's dream of making a feature film about Switzerland was dashed in the film. De Niro himself was responsible for the cancellation at the time, claiming that Switzerland lacked "drama." The commercial was one of the top ten most successful commercials of 2021, with over 100 million views worldwide.

Anne Hathaway has been chosen to represent Switzerland.

Switzerland Tourism was successful in securing first-class celebrity power for the year 2022. Anne Hathaway, a Hollywood icon and Oscar winner, is unable to assist Federer. It is said that the two of them visited the absolute highlights of Switzerland's Grand Tour. Despite the fact that the two had achieved the filming that the tennis star had envisioned, they were scarcely visible in the final edit, as the director had drastically reduced the viewers' ability to see the two stars. Naturally, both celebrities are dissatisfied. The plot of the new promotional film is as follows.

The Grand Tour of Switzerland is unrivalled

The viewer is treated to beautiful pictures of the Grand Tour of Switzerland at the start of the video. A dramatic film score, breathtaking mountain passes, lovely lakes, and towering castles. However, the dramatic sights are abruptly cut short by an enraged Roger Federer. He sits in an edit studio with Anne for a screening with the production team and director. Both realise, to their astonishment, that the filmmaker has effectively cut them out of the entire film. There are no close-ups of the superstars, but the screen is dominated by magnificent vistas. No one beats the Grand Tour of Switzerland, and no one is more aesthetically appealing than Swiss landscapes, according to the filmmaker.

Roger Federer was nervous

Working with Anne Hathaway was great fun for Roger Federer: "It was an absolute privilege to spend time with such a global super star like Anne Hathaway. I was nervous about her high level of acting. But she gave me lots of tips and couldn't have been nicer. She was very helpful and certainly patient with my acting skills." Martin Nydegger, Director of Switzerland Tourism, is also excited about Anne Hathaway: "With such a Hollywood superstar like Anne in our campaign, we are assured of worldwide attention for the Grand Tour of Switzerland." For her part, Anne Hathaway has revealed herself to be a Switzerland fan: "Before the shoot, I was in the Swiss mountains with my family, and not only was it so beautiful but all the people there were so polite, sweet, considerate and - it's actually true - very punctual."

Worldwide campaign 2022

The short film is part of a worldwide campaign to promote the Grand Tour of Switzerland. In addition to the film, different promotional materials will be used under the slogan "I need the roadtrip of a lifetime. I need Switzerland." The diversity of Switzerland's nature will be showcased along the Grand Tour of Switzerland, an unforgettable road trip packed with the best of Switzerland. Naturally, this road trip can also be enjoyed very sustainably by travelling in an electric car, as the whole tour is fully electrified.  To make the trip even more memorable, Roger Federer will be the official guide on the number one road trip of the Alps and will present his personal favorite routes on a corresponding website.
