Arnab’s Republic TV ropes in Chitra Subramaniam as Editorial Advisor

Veteran journalist who exposed the Bofors scandal, Chitra Subramaniam, is joining Arnab Goswami’s soon-to-be-launched news channel Republic TV as Editorial Advisor. Subramaniam is the second major hire after Vikas Khanchandani, who has come on board as CEO of the new venture. 

Welcoming her to his team, Arnab Goswami, Founder, Republic TV, said, “I am honoured and privileged to work with Chitra Subramaniam. We look up to her for her high standards of journalism and integrity. Our Editorial team is delighted to welcome her onboard.” 

Commenting on her new role, Subramaniam said, “I am pleased to collaborate with Arnab and his team. It’s young, fresh, fearless, pan-Indian and ambitious – attributes that Indian journalism can do with at this juncture. I hope I can live up to the expectations placed on me.” 

Subramaniam is currently Editorial Advisor to The News Minute, a Bangalore-based online portal. She has received several journalism awards for her work, including the prestigious BD Goenka Award and the Chameli Devi Award. She is the author of several books, including ‘India is for Sale’, a New York Times – India bestseller, the cover for which was designed by none other than late RK Laxman.
