BARC ratings Wk 26: Star Plus further firms up lead in Urban+Rural

BARC ratings for Week 26 (June 25-July 1) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus further consolidate its leadership position among Hindi GECs.

Star Plus held on to its numero uno spot in Week 26, witnessing further growth in its gross viewership to 698,563 from 669,152 recorded last week. Two of its shows – ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ and ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ – were among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Week 26 in rural+urban. ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’, which was the most watched on Hindi GECs last week, slipped a notch in Week 26, garnering 10,043 impressions (000s). ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’ remained at No. 3, garnering 9,386 impressions (000s) in rural+urban.

Colors remained at No. 2, registering gross viewership of 618,151 in Week 26 in rural+urban, compared to 630,167 recorded last week.

Zee TV held on to its third spot in Week 26 with a gross viewership of 587,573, witnessing a marginal decline from last week’s figure of 590,000. Zee TV’s show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ rose to become the most watched show on Hindi GECs in rural+urban this week, garnering 11,497 impressions (000s). Meanwhile, another show on Zee TV, ‘Ek Tha Raja Ek Thi Rani’ was the new entrant in the top 5 list, making its entry in No. 5 with 8,556 impressions (000s).

Zee Anmol climbed up two places to No. 4 in Week 26 and saw strong gains in gross viewership at 520,438 from 445,267 last week. Period drama ‘Jodha Akbar’ climbed up a notch to No. 4 among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, registering 9,262 impressions (000s).

Star Utsav slipped a notch to No. 5 from No. 4 last week. The channel registered gross viewership of 468,809 in Week 26, compared to 456,178 recorded in Week 25.

Sony Pal, too, slipped a notch to No. 6 from the fifth spot last week. The channel, however, witnessed further increase in its gross viewership from 451,390 in Week 25 to 457,844 this week.

Life OK continued in its seventh spot this week as well with a gross viewership of 388,072, a slight decline from 411,292 recorded in Week 25.

Meanwhile, Sony SAB rose to the eighth spot from No. 9 last week. The channel recorded gross viewership of 365,087 in Week 26, a decline from 343,824 recorded last week.

Sony Entertainment Television, on the other hand, slipped to the ninth spot, garnering gross viewership of 361,949 this week, compared to 357,481 recorded in Week 25.

Placed at the tenth spot, Rishtey, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership from 332,770 in Week 25 to 323,549 this week.
