BARC ratings Wk 27: Star Plus continues lead in Urban+Rural

BARC ratings for Week 27 (July 2-8) of 2016 [HSM (U+R) : NCCS All : 4+ Individuals] saw Star Plus continue to maintain its lead among Hindi GECs.

Star Plus continued to be in the No. 1 spot in Week 27, witnessing a gross viewership of 677,948, a decline from 698,563 recorded last week. Two of its shows – ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ and ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’ – featured among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in Week 27 in rural+urban. ‘Ye Hai Mohabbatein’ slipped further this week to be placed at the third spot garnering 9,657 impressions (000s). ‘Saath Nibhaana Saathiya’, placed at No. 3 last week, moved out of the top 5 Hindi GECs list. Another show on Star Plus, ‘Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai’, entered the list at No. 5 garnering 8,471 impressions (000s) in rural+urban.

Colors held on to its No. 2 spot, registering gross viewership of 625,834, an increase from 618,151 in Week 26 in rural+urban. Its show ‘Comedy Nights Live’ made an entry into the top 5 Hindi GECs list, garnering 8,889 impressions (000s) in rural+urban.

Zee TV, too, continued in the third spot in Week 27 with a gross viewership of 584,403, witnessing a marginal decline from last week’s figure of 587,573. Zee TV’s show ‘Kumkum Bhagya’ continued as the most watched show on Hindi GECs in rural+urban this week as well, garnering 13,494 impressions (000s), an increase from 11,497 impressions (000s) in Week 26.

Zee Anmol, which had climbed up two places to No. 4 in Week 26, held on to this position this week as well, garnering gross viewership 473813, a fall from last week’s figure of 520,438. Period drama ‘Jodha Akbar’ saw further gains this week as the show climbed up from No. 4 in Week 26 to No. 2 this week among the top 5 shows on Hindi GECs in rural+urban, registering 9,930 impressions (000s).

Star Utsav continued at No. 5, witnessing a gross viewership of 458,291 in Week 27, compared to 468,809 recorded last week.

Sony Pal and Life OK held on to their sixth and seventh positions, respectively. Sony Pal witnessed a fall in gross viewership from 457,844 in Week 26 to 408,104 this week.

Life OK, too, saw a slight decline in its gross viewership to 387,371 in Week 27 from 388,072 last week.

Sony Entertainment Television climbed up a notch to No 8 in Week 27, garnering gross viewership of 361,369, compared to 361,949 recorded last week.

Meanwhile, Sony SAB slipped to the No. 9 position from No. 8 last week. The channel recorded gross viewership of 356,611, compared to 365,087 recorded in Week 26.

Placed at the tenth spot, Rishtey, too, saw a decline in its gross viewership from 323,549 in Week 26 to 289,479 this week.
