BARC Wk 24: Star Plus leads among Hindi GECs; Goldmines puts up impressive show

Sun TV tops the list of Top 10 channels as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s data for Week 24 (Saturday, 11th June 2022 To Friday, 17th June 2022). Among the Top 10 channels are three Hindi GECs – Star Plus, Sony SAB and Dangal leading the All India 2+ market at 3rd, 5th and 6th positions, respectively. Hindi movies channel Goldmines is placed in the 4th position.

The markets that comprise of major Hindi speaking masses are HSM(U+R) NCCS All 2+ market, Guj/D&D/DNH 2+ market, Delhi 2+ market, MP/Chhattisgarh 2+ market, UP/Uttrakhand 2+ market, Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market and Rajasthan 2+ market.

Star Plus is the leading Hindi GEC in All India 2+ market garnering Average Minute Audiences (AMA) of 2081.99 (000) impressions. The channel has captured the market in almost all the Hindi speaking states – it is at No. 1 position in the Delhi 2+ market, HSM(U+R) NCCS All 2+ market and Guj/D&D/DNH 2+ market with 193.03 (000), 2011.23 (000) and 442.74 (000) AMAs, respectively. Star Plus is placed at second position in Mega Cities 2+ market with 383.55 (000) AMAs; in MP/Chhattisgarh and UP/Uttrakhand 2+ markets, the channel is ranked third with 259.62 (000) and 193.52 (000) AMAs, In Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market and Rajasthan 2+ market, it is placed in the 4th position with 98.89 (000) and 102.49 (000) AMAs, respectively.

The next in line is Goldmines, which has made a space for itself among the Top 10 channels as well as in a majority of states surpassing even Zee TV, Sony Entertainment Television, Colors and other channels with 1843.02 (000) impressions in the all India market. Goldmines is the leading channel in Rajasthan 2+ market with 172.08 (000) AMAs. The channel is at second position in Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market with 150.05 (000) AMAs, MP/Chhattisgarh 2+ market with 311.48 (000) AMAs, UP/Uttarakhand 2+ market with 244.09 (000) AMAs and HSM (U=R) NCCS All 2+ market with 1815.44 (000) AMAs. The channel is at fourth position in Guj/D7D/DNH 2+ market with 172.04 (000) AMAs.

Sony SAB follows next. While this channel has secured the fifth position in All India 2+ market with 1678.96 (000) AMAs, the channel’s presence is not seen much in all the states. It is at 2nd position in Guj/D&D/DNH 2+ market, and it is at 3rd position in Delhi 2+ market with 112.07 (000) AMAs and Rajasthan 2+ market with 106.22 (000) AMAs. In the HSM market, too, it is at 3rd position with 1638.03 (000) AMAs.

Dangal is another leading channel in the Hindi GECs space, with 1632.85 (000) impressions in the All India 2+ market. The channel is at No. 1 position in Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market with 201.75 (000) AMAs and UP/Uttarakhand 2+ market with 342.7 (000) AMAs. It is at second position in Rajasthan 2+ market with 166.55 (000) and at 4th position in HSM (U=R) NCCS All 2+ market with 1623.97 (000) AMAs.
