BARC Wk 26: Sun TV continues at No. 1; Goldmines makes significant inroads in HSM

For the list of Top 10 channels in All India, as per Broadcast Audience Research Council (BARC) India’s data for Week 25 (Saturday, 25th June 2022 To Friday, 1st July 2022), SunTV continues to lead the list. The data shows three Hindi GECs among Top 10 channels – Star Plus at 3rd position, which is the same as last week, Dangal is in the 5th position, while Sony SAB is in the 6th position in the All India 2+ market. Hindi movies channel Goldmines continued to be placed in the 4th position.

The markets that comprise of major Hindi speaking masses are HSM (U+R) NCCS All 2+ market, Guj/D&D/DNH 2+ market, Delhi 2+ market, MP/Chhattisgarh 2+ market, UP/Uttrakhand 2+ market, Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market and Rajasthan 2+ market.

Star Plus is the leading Hindi GEC in All India 2+ market. The channel has garnered much lower Average Minute Audiences (AMA) this week as compared to last week with 2011.55 (000) impressions. The channel has come down from the first position to the second position in the Delhi 2+ market, HSM(U+R) NCCS All 2+ market and Guj/D&D/DNH 2+ market, where the impressions too dipped down a from last week with 177.06 (000), 1943.94 (000) and 415.94 (000) AMAs, respectively. Star Plus is placed at second position in Mega Cities 2+ market with 382.78 (000) AMAs; in MP/Chhattisgarh and UP/Uttrakhand 2+ markets, the channel is ranked third with 243.69 (000) and 191.85 (000) AMAs, In Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market and Rajasthan 2+ market, even though the channel garnered more AMA than last week, it still remains on the 5th position with 101.21 (000) and 105.19 (000) AMAs, respectively.

Narrowing the gap with Star Plus, Goldmines has garnered 2000.39 (000) impressions in the all India market. Goldmines is the leading channel in the HSM (U=R) NCCS All 2+ market and Rajasthan 2+ market with 1977.66 (000) and 186.03 (000) AMAs. The channel is in second position in Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market with 194.57 (000) AMAs, MP/Chhattisgarh 2+ market with 322.11 (000) AMAs, UP/Uttarakhand 2+ market with 254.56 (000) AMAs. However, the channel has dipped down from third to fourth position in Guj/D7D/DNH 2+ market this week with 190.04 (000) AMAs.

Dangal follows next with higher impressions than last week with 1763.25 (000) impressions in the All India 2+ market. The channel is at No. 1 position in Bihar/Jharkhand 2+ market with 210.86 (000) AMAs and UP/Uttarakhand 2+ market with 376.72 (000) AMAs. It is at second position in Rajasthan 2+ market with 185.98 (000) and at 3rd position in HSM (U=R) NCCS All 2+ market with 1752.31 (000) AMAs.

Sony SAB is another leading channel in Hindi GEC. While this channel has secured the sixth position in All India 2+ market with 1623.14 (000) AMAs, the channel’s presence is not seen much in all the states. It is at No. 1 position in Guj/D&D/DNH 2+ market with 447.43 (000)AMAs, and it is at 3rd position in Delhi 2+ market with 117.38 (000) AMAs; It is on 4th position in Rajasthan 2+ market and HSM market with 114.12 (000) AMAs and 1612.79 (000) AMAs.
