Bharat Gupta, CEO of Jagran New Media, appointed Regional President of INMA's SA Division

Bharat Gupta, the CEO of Jagran New Media, has been elected as the Regional President of the South Asian Division of The International News Media Association (INMA). He has succeeded Praveen Someshwar, MD & CEO at HT Media Ltd. The leadership transition occurred during INMA's annual business meeting, where new officers and regional directors were appointed for the International board.
Jagran New Media is the digital arm of Jagran Prakashan Ltd, which operates businesses in Print, Radio, Outdoor & Digital.
Bharat Gupta expressed his deep honor in taking on the role and outlined his primary focus on driving scale, impact, and sustainability for digital news media companies. He emphasized the importance of creating a collaborative platform for ideation, collaboration, and innovation, especially in the context of ongoing disruption caused by AI and ML technology stacks.
Gupta highlighted the significance of culture building within organizations, with a specific emphasis on fostering Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity to ensure a transformative impact across the media landscape.
As the South Asia Division President, Bharat Gupta will be responsible for shaping the futuristic vision of the division, overseeing its activities, and championing INMA's core values of sustainable journalism, success, innovation, and continuous learning. Before his role as President, Gupta served as the Vice President of the INMA South Asian Division, showcasing dedication to the organization's mission by focusing on growth, revenue, and brand development in the media industry.
The team members also acknowledged Earl J. Wilkinson, the Executive Director and CEO of INMA, for his exemplary leadership. INMA, with a global Board of Directors, continues to provide professional training and development opportunities for its 20,000+ members across 94 countries. The organization leads the news industry in initiatives related to digital subscriptions, intelligent data, products, advertising, and the evolving relationship with Big Tech platforms.
