Bharat Kapadia bids adieu to Lokmat

Bharat Kapadia, Director, Lokmat Newspapers Pvt Ltd, has decided to bid adieu and move on.

Confirming the news to Adgully Kapadia said that he will starting with his own venture now. He will be launching a technology firm called Whatuwant Solutions Pvt Ltd and a consultancy firm called ideas@BharatKapadia.com.

Kapadia joined Lokmat in 2009 before which he was CEO & Managing Editor of Jagran 18 Publications Ltd, a JV between Network 18 & Jagran Prakashan Ltd.

From 2005 to 2008 Kapadia also worked as Executive Director of the Bhaskar Group, where he was responsible to turn around Divya Bhaskar & later was promoted as Executive Director of the group DB Corp. Prior to this, he was the Editor & Associate Publisher of Chitralekha Gujarati & Marathi weekly.

He has held various positions in various organisations. He has worked as the Chairman of Advertising Standards Council (ASCI), a voluntary organisation which works as a 'watchdog' for the Ad industry and also as the Chairman of Media Research Users' Council (MRUC), an media industry organisation conducting market research for assessing readership & other audience measurements of various media. However he stepped down from the MRUC board in early March this year.
