Bihar Tourism Ministry to release 360 degree Virtual Tour of Bihar!

On the backdrop of BodhGaya being an important religious tourist destination of India, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI) today organized an interactive session on 'Introducing Air Connectivity to Bodh Gaya'.
Welcoming the Chief Guest of the occasion Bihar Tourism Minister Sunil Kumar ‘Pintu’, the Secretary General of PHDCCI urged the government to facilitate the introduction of air connectivity to Bodh Gaya through Gaya International Airport and deliberate on growth of airport infrastructure at Bodh Gaya. Secretary General of PHDCCI, Ms Susmita Shekhar was of the opinion that the Govt of India must focus on potential states like Bihar for an inclusive growth of India’s already booming tourism sector. Ms Shekhar also highlighted the fact that Bodhgaya already have international connectivity and hence, domestic air connections are imperative.
 
Deliberating on Bihar, especially on Bodh Gaya as a pilgrimage tourist hub, Sunil Kumar ‘Pintu’ said that seeing the penetration of internet and technology in today’s era, the Bihar Tourism Ministry has created a 360 degree Virtual Tour of Bihar. Pintu further announced that the same would be released before August 15, 2012.  He also announced that a four-lane connecting roadway is being constructed for bettering the travel between Bodh Gaya and Patna.
 
Pintu further said that the BodhGaya airport being an international one has all the facilities and infrastructure to support international and domestic tourism. He also stressed that Bihar Tourism Ministry is ready for all support and investment needed to back up tourism provided the airlines should come forward and put forth their specific requirements.
 
Present on the occasion was the Airport Director, Airport Authority of India, Captain Deepak Shastri. He opined that the air connectivity should not be only facilitated between Delhi and BodhGaya but also between all the BUDDHIST circuits that we have in our country. He urged on bringing a collaborative initiative and action between state tourism ministries and airline authorities to introduce special air connectivity to Buddhist spots. Captain Shastri also put forth that a 6-lane expressway should be built to connect Ranchi and Patna as well.
 
Other dignitaries present in the session were Head, Airline Marketing & Route Development, Delhi International Airport (P) Ltd, Director Tourism, Gov of Bihar, Mr. D. K. Srivastav, and Chairman, Civil Aviation, Ports and Other Infrastructure Committee, PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry, K .Narayan Rao. The session was participated by the officials of airlines like Go Air, Air India, Spice Route, Jet Airways, etc.
