DMAi 2012 is round the corners. Touted to be the most sought after marketing event ,that industry experts and marketers are looking forward to, DMAi 2012 is the one stop destination for marketers to explore newer avenues and discover deeper marketing strategies. Organised by Direct Marketing Association: India, DMAi 2012 will focus on direct marketing including traditional, interactive and futuristic channels. DMAi 2012 is scheduled from August 1st –August 4th 2012.
 
Adgully caught up with Shelly Singh, Director DMAi; as she provides interesting insights into the offerings of DMAi 2012.
 
Adgully (AG): What would be the key areas of focus at DMAi 2012?
 
Shelly Singh (SS): The DMAi global convention 2012 will feature global learning in strategic marketing with special focus on direct marketing including traditional, interactive and futuristic channels; with participation from over 100 global and Indian companies. The DMAi 2012 convention will be an integrated forum to bring all direct marketing channels on a single platform that highlights the emerging trends.
 
AG: Can you tell us about some of the sessions at DMAi 2012?
 
SS: The Convention will be a 2 day event in Mumbai spread over a minimum of 4 key sessions and will include keynote presentations from leading practitioners from India and abroad, panel discussions of eminent professionals, expo centers for actual business, award presentations in the direct marketing industry and an opportunity to network with the crème de la crème of marketing practitioners.
 
AG: What would be the topics highlighted in these sessions?
 
SS: The content that will be covered over the 4 sessions will be ambitious and will aim to touch on all the key aspects of what is driving marketing thought in India and abroad. While the actual subjects of keynote presentations and panel discussions will be determined as we finalize each illustrious participant, given below is a rough guide on what to expect in the knowledge and learning sessions

AG: Any partners that you have tied up with for the event?
 
SS: DMAi has associated with Australian DMA (ADMA) in six areas of co-operation viz Education, Information , Resource Sharing, Conference, Seminars and other programmes, Networking and Contact Development, Recognising Excellence and Member Recognition .With ADMA pioneering various activities to enhance direct marketing practices, it would be ideal to bring in the learning and ADMA’s expertise to India.
 
DMAi has also associated with the DMA international ECHO awards that honors direct marketing campaigns that have excelled in direct response strategy, creativity and results. This will enable the DMAi awards winners to enter into the prestigious International ECHO Awards 2013 bypassing the first round of judging and fast track to the semi-finals of the competition.
 
AG: Is the initiative a first of its kind or has something like this been done before?
 
SS: This will be India’s first-of-its-kind global convention for direct marketing which will be a single platform for all multichannel marketing including traditional, interactive and futuristic channels and will give out the trends, latest news, best practices and industry insights.
 
AG: What would be some of the major aspects of the convention?
 
SS: This convention will serve as a perfect platform for companies, brands and agencies to learn effectively to integrate multiple channels including digital and social, capitalize on the infinite array of channels, data messaging, and media to create relevant real-time dialogue with customers, connect with hundreds of solution providers and build the social and professional network. In other words, an ultimate forum to interact, ideate and innovate.
