Bloomberg UTV announces viewer initiative as part of the Earth Day celebrations

Bloomberg UTV, India's premiere Business news channel, announced a unique viewer initiative as part of the Earth Day celebrations on April 22. It has launched a unique photography contest on "Why on earth are you saving the planet?" theme.

This contest aims to highlight the problems faced by Planet Earth, the plight and exploitation that our planet goes through every day by asking a blatant question to "Why on earth are you saving the planet?' The contest offers photography enthusiasts a chance to look at our planet in a different way and do their bit in conserving the Earth.

Those interested in participating in this contest will have to click and send photographs to answer the thematic question. Through the contest, Bloomberg UTV expects its viewers to take a closer look at the threats Planet Earth faces as a result of selfish human developments and motives. Photo-enthusiasts can capture the harmful effects of pollution, de-forestation, littering, emissions, water contamination as well as other such environmental concerns and send their entries by mail to memc@bloombergutv.com latest by April 21. The winner of this contest will get attractive Bloomberg UTV merchandise. Through this initiative, the business channel ensures that environmental problems are given a serious thought so that the conservation process can be initiated. The campaign is supported by GE as the presenting partner.

Bloomberg UTV is also extending the Earth Day initiative to its on-air programming with special stories being aired on the "Green" theme since Monday April 18. These special stories include India's Most Fuel-Efficient Cars (Monday, April 18), Eco-Friendly Fashion (Tuesday, April 19), Green Social Entrepreneurs (Wednesday, April 20), Sustainable Urban Living (Thursday, April 21) and Managing E-Waste (Friday, April 22)
