CMC conferred with Certificate of Recognition by ICSI for excellence in Corporate Governance

The Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) has recognised CMC as one of the top 7 companies in India for adopting good corporate governance practices and conferred with Certificate of Recognition for the second consecutive year at the ICSI National Award for Excellence in Corporate Governance-2011 presentation ceremony held in Hyderabad on 23.12.2011.

J. K. Gupta, CFO and Vivek Agarwal, Company Secretary of CMC Limited received the award on behalf of the company from Andhra Pradesh Governor Shri ESL Narasimhan and Union Minister for Corporate Affairs Shri Veerappa Moily.

The accolade aims to foster and reward the culture of evolving globally acceptable standards of corporate governance among Indian companies. Companies identified for this award are not only focussed on the market, compliance, standard process and policies but are also stakeholders driven and how they can drive global solutions and the challenges to accountability are closely integrated with the business processes.

The ICSI jury, headed by Hon'ble Justice J. K. Gupta, former Chief Justice of India, comprised several eminent personalities from diversified fields including Mr. Naresh Chandra, former Cabinet Secretary and Indian Ambassador to the US.
