CNN’s ‘As Equals’ appoints Pallabi Munsi as India-based reporter

Pallabi Munsi has been appointed as a Reporter for CNN’s As Equals, based in New Delhi. She is responsible for producing impactful enterprise and investigative journalism on gender equality from across the Asia-Pacific region. 

Launched in January 2018 and expanded in 2021 with a three-year grant from the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, As Equals’ mission is to reveal what systemic gender inequality looks like. With stories on under-reported issues in under-reported parts of the world, told by under-reported voices, As Equals spotlights taboo subjects and aspires to effect change. 

Munsi works alongside colleagues in London, Amsterdam, Abuja, Montreal and Seattle.

Before joining CNN, Munsi was a features correspondent for OZY Media, where she worked with an award-winning team and focused on the intersections of politics, gender, technology and human rights. Prior to that, she worked on news desks at Hindustan Times, The Indian Express and Mumbai Mirror.

Munsi has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Presidency College in Kolkata and a Post-Graduate degree from the Asian College of Journalism in Chennai.
