Comic Con India Awards: Dates announced!

After successful and entertainment packed Comics Convention in Delhi (1st Annual Indian Comics Convention in Feb 2011) and Mumbai (Comic Con Express, The traveling version in Oct 2011) this year, the organizers of Comic Con India are gearing up to host an awards ceremony honoring comic talent in the country. The first ever Comic Con India Awards is set to be held in the Capital at India International Centre on February 16, this year.

Jatin Varma, Founder, Comic Con India, says, "The upcoming Indian Comics Convention will be the first year we have the Comic Con India Awards, where we honour and felicitate the best Indian Comics and Comics Creators, and give them the recognition they deserve, among their peers. There really aren't any awards for the Indian Comics Industry. Hopefully these will serve as a catalyst to push more people into the industry."

CCI Awards aim to recognize the work that the professionals in India's Comics Industry do. It's an attempt to bring into focus the novelty of this art form and acknowledging the efforts of numerous writers, artists & publishers in this field.

The jury consisting of Orijit Sen(Graphic Artist & Designer), Vaibhav Kumaresh(Animation Filmmaker) and the Comic Con India Core team will go through the entries submitted and eventually shortlist them.
