Creatively inspiring and insightful innovations at Eurobest'10

Eurobest, Europe's premier creative advertising and communications festival which takes place in Hamburg in December, is introducing a number of creatively inspiring and insightful innovations to the 2010 programme as well as a number of fun networking events.

On the afternoon of Monday 6 December, delegates can have an inspiring start to the Eurobest Festival by examining some of the world's greatest work in advertising as awarded at Cannes Lions this year. Mark Tutssel, Chief Creative Officer at Leo Burnett Worldwide, and the 2010 Cannes Lions jury president for Film and Press together with Alexander Schill, Chief Creative Officer and Partner of the Serviceplan Group and member of the Cannes Lions Promo & Activation jury, will present a selection of the best work in these categories providing an overview and insight into the winning entries and why they were awarded.

Following this session, there will be welcome drinks sponsored by FESPA, where delegates can meet other attendees in a relaxed environment at the festival venue. Monday evening will conclude with an exclusive screening of Herman Vaske's The Radical Gardener. Nominated for this year's prestigious Rose d'Or award, the film connects art and advertising.

Eurobest has teamed up with Contagious this year to launch The Hive, an interactive technology zone where attendees can engage and be entertained by the most inspiring technological innovations and innovators. On display will be art works, apps, visualisations and games, amongst other cutting-edge technologies, that will shape the future of communications.

"Contagious devotes a lot of attention to the intersection of brands and technology, so we're extremely excited to be curating The Hive at Eurobest. Our aim is to create a dynamic, experiential space where delegates get to play with the latest gadgets and gizmos as well as learning how technological innovation will shape the marketing campaigns of the future," commented Paul Kemp-Robertson, Editorial Director and Co-Founder of Contagious.

Eurobest 2010 will also celebrate the work of one of the most influential art directors of the 20th century with an exhibition focusing on Helmut Krone. Born to German parents in New York in the 1920s, Krone joined Doyle Dane Bernbach in 1954 and went on to work on some of the most influential adverts of the time, including work for the Volkswagen Beetle, which was ranked by Advertising Age as the most important campaign of the century.

As well as reviewing the best work from the last 12 months, Eurobest delegates can, in just two days, catch up on cutting-edge industry thinking at 21 seminars with speakers that already include world renowned photographer Rankin, Bob Greenberg, Jonathan Harries, Filip Nilsson, Fernando Vega Olmos and Linus Karlsson. Four workshops will offer the unique opportunity to get up close and personal with the industry's key figures. Work in small groups and get tailored insight from some of the most creative thinkers.

Eurobest is pleased to bring Networking After Dark to Hamburg. Following the success in Stockholm and Amsterdam, in 2010 six of Hamburg's top creative agencies will open their doors to all Eurobest delegates for an evening of fun and partying. Catch up with old friends and meet new ones while enjoying some German hospitality. Participating agencies are Tribal DDB, Jung von Matt, kempertrautmann, Lukas Lindemann Rosinski, Serviceplan Gruppe and Grabarz & Partner.

Philip Thomas, CEO of Cannes Lions, organisers of Eurobest said, "At Eurobest we are committed to offering Europe's creative advertising and communications industry the best learning, engaging, networking and enjoyable couple of days. The addition of The Hive, the Helmut Krone exhibition and the launch of The Future Creative Leaders Programme which complement a rich seminar and workshop programme, as well as the continuation of the now established and unique Networking After Dark fulfil all these requirements and offer attendees a truly exceptional Eurobest experience."

Now in its 23rd year, the Eurobest Awards form part of the Eurobest Festival, which takes place at the Handelskammer in Hamburg on 7 & 8 December 2010, providing two days of inspiration, debate, learning and networking. Delegates can collect their festival badges from Monday afternoon 6 December and partake in an afternoon of inspirational and networking activities. The 2010 Eurobest awards ceremony will be on 8 December at the Curio Haus.
