EFFIEs 2010: The achievers and their reactions...

Effies 2010 held on 7th December 2010 at the Turf Club saw some outstanding campaigns from Ogilvy India, Lowe Lintas, BBDO and DraftFCB+Ulka among others.

Adgully speaks to these winners and finds out to what they attribute this win to.

Piyush Pandey, Executive Chairman and Creative Director, Ogilvy & Mather South Asia said, "It feels wonderful to have won. So many clients and our team made it happen. Everyone is happy about this memorable win and this makes me proud of my team and clients."

He further added, "It was possible only because our clients were daring and unconventional in their approach and took that risk which is required for great ideas."

Ogilvy India won four gold, seven silver and three bronze in various categories along with the Agency of the Year award. The agency scored total points of 145 which placed them at the top.

M.G.Parameswaran, Executive Director & CEO, Draftfcb + Ulka, speaking to Adgully said, "All of us at Draftfcb Ulka are indeed delighted that the Tata Docomo campaign was awarded the Grand Effie at the Ad Club Bombay's Effie Awards 2010. The campaign for Tata Docomo, presented the brand as a new face of telecom in India, young, smart, vibrant and very very action oriented. The client was willing to buy distinctive advertising and take bold moves that built the brand."

He further said, "The brand's advertising broke the clutter and the results are there for seeing. In every market it entered Tata Docomo was the seventh or eighth brand, but went on to a dominant position in net additions, within a few weeks of launch."

"The initial launch momentum was maintained by our client through a series of initiatives that drive home the brand promise: Do the New. The brand's signature tune is on every kid's lips, including children who are yet to learn to speak. The brand's identity was leveraged in advertising to new levels, making it a new communication language. It is an honour that the brand won the Grand Effie," he further added
