Fali Vakeel, Ad Guru & former Vice Chairman of Lowe Lintas, passes away

In a somber turn of events, the advertising world mourns the loss of one of its most illustrious figures, Fali Vakeel. The former Vice Chairman of Lowe Lintas breathed his last, leaving behind a legacy that shaped the Indian advertising landscape for decades.

Fali Vakeel, revered for his visionary leadership and unparalleled creativity, succumbed peacefully at 4:10 am, as confirmed by his family. With his departure, the industry bids farewell to a luminary whose influence stretched far beyond the confines of boardrooms and ad campaigns.

Before assuming the mantle at Lowe Lintas in 2011, Vakeel honed his craft at renowned agencies like JWT in London and McCann. Hailing from Mumbai, his journey into advertising was a testament to his versatility, having initially pursued studies in English, Psychology, and Accountancy.

Throughout his tenure, Vakeel played a pivotal role in steering Lowe Lintas towards unprecedented growth, earning him the moniker 'Last of the Mad Men in Indian advertising,' bestowed by his colleague and agency CEO Joseph George. His collaborations with industry giants such as R Balki, CVL Srinivas, and Alyque Padamsee underscored his knack for fostering creativity and innovation.

In 2016, after decades of dedicated service, Vakeel bid adieu to the world of advertising, leaving behind a void that will be challenging to fill.

The funeral rites for Fali Vakeel will be conducted on Saturday, March 16th, at the Parsi Prayer Hall, Worli, commencing at 3:40 pm. A solemn Uthumna will follow on Sunday, March 17th, at the same venue.
