GAIL India’s Hawa Badlo movement to inspire school children

GAIL (India) Ltd, as an extension of its Hawa Badlo campaign, now intends to connect with school students in India, who are the future of India and are currently at massive health risks due to constant rise in pollutants in the air.

As part of this drive, Hawa Badlo has launched an online Hawa Badlo School Warrior contest, wherein students will be given a chance to showcase their creative views on air pollution by uploading short videos and art forms on advocacy against air pollution, problems of air pollution and solutions for curbing it, on the Hawa Badlo microsite – www.changetheair.org. The students can upload videos and art forms till February 15, 2018 and the selected short videos and art forms will win prizes. The student who uploads the best concept video will be awarded a tour package along with her/his parents to the carbon negative country – Bhutan.

Hawa Badlo campaign is in line with GAIL’s commitment to improve the air quality with collective societal effort under the Hawa Badlo - Swachh Air Mission initiative. This campaign seeks to unify people who believe in the cause and urges them to sign up as Hawa Badlo warriors to physically execute initiatives and take steps towards positive change. These Hawa Badlo warriors would spearhead this change and encourage more and more people to make this movement a sustainable one.

Hawa Badlo movement’s objective is to create awareness about the consequences of environmental contamination caused by human activity and motivate the masses to inculcate air-friendly habits such as switching to CNG/electric vehicles, carpooling, and use of public transport.
