Homeshop18's Sundeep Malhotra honoured as 'Retail Entrepreneur of the Year'

Sundeep Malhotra, Founder & CEO, Homeshop18 was honoured at the Star Retailer Awards 2012 as the ‘Retail Entrepreneur of the Year’ for setting a benchmark in the Indian retail industry. Under his leadership Homeshop18 has become a strong virtual shopping brand (TV & e commerce) for shoppers across the country.  

Sundeep Malhotra, a veteran in the retail sector, has 20 years of retail and FMCG experience.  He established the home shopping business in India in 2008 when virtual shopping was a rare concept.  Building on the idea, literally from scratch, Sundeep made HomeShop18 a well known shopping brand in 3000 cities across India with an impressive portfolio of over 12 million products across multiple categories. In 2011 under his leadership Homeshop18 launched the online shopping site, Homeshop18.com to extend the virtual shopping experience to a growing internet population.  Today, HomeShop18 is a strong player across TV and online.

The early success in terms of rapid consumer acquisition, expanding product portfolio and very high repeat users has imparted Homeshop18 with an edge over new entrants in this space. Sundeep’s resilient vision and leadership has led team HomeShop18 to a phenomenal growth. Such immense contribution in the virtual retail business, made Sundeep Malhotra, an apparent preference for the ‘Retail entrepreneur of the Year’ Award.

Prior to Homeshop18, Sundeep was the Executive Vice President, Sales, for Pepsico Holding India. Earlier to Pepsi he had a 5 years stint with Benetton India as their Head Sales and Marketing for the Indian Sub-continent and a 10 year stint with Bata India Ltd, across various function from Brand Management to Retail Head. His unmatchable dedication in the Retail industry has earlier also recognized him with prestigious awards like Award for Brand Excellence (Internet business) at World Brand Congress 2011, Industry Leadership Award at Asian Leadership Awards 2011, eRetailer of the Year and Innovation in Delivery Award (Special Category) at Indian eRetail Awards 2012, Retail Leadership Award at Asia Retail Congress, and much more coveted awards are endowed to him.
