Kantar case adjourned by Delhi HC till 26th August

The Delhi High court has adjourned the Kantar Media Research case with regard to cross holding in TAM hearing till 26th August 2014.

The deferment came with the fact that the new government is yet to appoint the advocate who would fight the case on behalf of the government. Also while the court decides on the Kantar petition, TAM can continue publishing its TV ratings.

The matter came in existence when the Information and Broadcasting Ministry asked all rating agencies to register with the government and laid down conditions which barred cross holding. Kantar Media Research challenged the government regulation in view of the cross holding provision.
