#KeralaIsOpen by Samsonite invokes a pang of emotion for God's Own Country

Known for its golden palm-lined beaches, emerald backwaters, tea plantations and powerful art forms, the state of Kerala provides diverse opportunities to rejuvenate travellers. However, Kerala has suffered a major setback in its tourism numbers due to the recent devastating monsoon floods. Considering a substantial segment of Kerala’s employment is generated from tourism, this sudden decline massively affected people whose livelihood depend on the sector.

As a global leader in the travel category for over 100 years, Samsonite considers social responsibility as one of its essential, core principals. Samsonite has taken up the initiative to launch a campaign focusing on reviving tourism in Kerala.

Having experienced, first-hand, Kerala’s warmth, hospitality and eagerness to welcome its guests back, Samsonite has incepted a campaign that tugs at the heartstrings of tourists around the globe to visit Kerala. Through this initiative, Samsonite endeavours to motivate more tourists to experience this beautiful state.

After overcoming the adverse impacts of the calamity with courage and unity, Kerala is now open to welcome its much-awaited guests. As a part of the #KeralaIsOpen Campaign, the travel brand portrays the essence of Kerala through an impactful, short film. This beautifully rendered video captures the essence of every individual involved in the tourist sector from taxi drivers, lodge managers, elephant mahouts and others are eagerly waiting to welcome their guests.

The campaign’s mission is to remind travellers of the beauty of Kerala and to inspire them to come together and revive tourism in Kerala. Commenting on the initiative, Anushree Tainwala-Executive Director-Marketing, Samsonite South Asia said, “Through this campaign,we hope more and more people travel to Kerala. We want people to recognise that the only thing more unique than Neelakurinji is the heart of the people in Kerala. So let’s now embrace the spirit of the people and travel to Kerala because #KeralaIsOpen.”
