Kuku FM acquires the audiobook rights for ‘Nobody like An Outsider’

Kuku FM, India’s leading audio content platform and one of the top-rated audiobook apps in India, has acquired the audiobook rights to thriller Indian author and columnist Fawaz Jaleel's national bestseller debut novel "Nobody Likes An Outsider" in Hindi, Tamil, and Malayalam languages.

This acquisition of new languages will tap into not just tier-1 and tier-2 city audiences but also reach out to localites, catering to the Indian regional audience. Previously, Audible acquired the rights to the English audio version of this political thriller novel.

The audiobook is accessible not just in the Pan-India market but internationally as well, and it is all set to be adapted into a Bollywood film for a big screen experience.

Nobody's Likes An Outsider, published by Kalamos Literary Services, is Fawaz Jaleel's first thriller novel and the first edition of the Yohan Tytler murder mystery series, which garnered the author many accolades and rave reviews from critics and the audience and climbed to the top of bestseller lists across the country, catering to both avid readers and laymen. The resounding success of the book in the English language has created a demand for venturing into regional languages, giving it a wider reach. Also, it resulted in the release of the second book in the Yohan Tytler series. "Insiders versus Outsiders" was released in February this year.

Fawaz Jaleel, one of the top Indian thriller authors, said, “I am elated to witness and contribute to this transformative journey, as this association comes at a time when India's audiobook industry is seeing high traction and is at a pivotal juncture. The change afoot in the Indian content consumption space reflects the fast-paced lifestyle and inclination of Indian consumers towards consuming audio content, making audiobooks a mainstream choice for on-the-go readers”.

This stellar and strategic partnership with the fastest-growing premium audio content platform in India will offer the listeners the book's audio version in three Indian languages, seeking to leverage a newer set of audiences who prefer to listen to stories in their native or vernacular languages. Giving the book greater access to the Indian heartland in their languages by prioritising expansion in terms of vernacular reach.

Nobody Likes An Outsider is an investigation-centric murder mystery incorporating a well-woven mix of fiction and non-fiction narrative. It traces the murder investigation of India’s most promising politician and how it is linked to the contemporary history of the nation.
