Let Tinder be your guide to finding a match at the next festival

Meeting someone new is always exciting and young adults are increasingly on the lookout for experiences, especially if it's based on shared interests. With IRL dates on the rise, Tinder’s recent survey reveals that 55%* young adults are looking forward to having more opportunities to meet new people this year. For them, first dates are more about unique activities that help them get to know each other better with nearly 40%* young singles planning to attend a music festival or concert as a date this year.

To help members prepare for the first true festival season in years, Festival Mode by Tinder is the latest feature designed to help members find their new festival crew. Tinder has partnered with India's leading food and music festivals - Horn OK Please and NH7 Weekender.

More than half of the young daters (aged 18-25) agreed* that being able to connect with someone online before meeting in-person would ease some of the pressure of making a good first impression. Tinder’s feature, Festival Mode has been designed to bridge this gap between online introductions and IRL connections. It's a welcome addition to Tinder, as 1 in 5 singles have said that music gigs like festivals and concerts make for an ideal first date. With 60%* single adults preferring to choose matches with shared interests, Festival Mode will help members break the ice and connect over shared interests like music and food.

Here’s how it works:

  • Festival Mode is live on Tinder Explore, as one of the many ways members can discover and interact with each other through shared interests and experiences
  • Festival Mode will show up as a tile in Explore with the festival’s name on it.
  • Members can select from Horn OK and NH7 Weekender to attend and will be able to match with others who are also going which will be listed days before the event

“Music is a universal language and the number-one interest among Tinder members worldwide. So many of our members are excited to jump back into in-person events. We wanted to build on that excitement and offer them a head start at meeting someone new ahead of one of the biggest festival seasons in years,” said Papri Dev, Senior Director of Communications, APAC at Tinder. “Festival Mode gives you a chance to get yourself back out there, meet new people, and make friends before you hit the festival grounds. It’s a great, low-pressure way to make real world connections again.”

Each of these festivals will feature ‘Camp Tinder’, an experiential zone with music, games and entertainment. In addition to being a great place to vibe, Camp Tinder will also feature a space to meet your Festival Mode Date.

Festival Mode is available to Indian Tinder members on Explore. Festivals that will be featured in Festival Mode in India are below:

  1. Horn OK Please, Delhi, 11-13th November 2022
  2. NH7 Weekender, Pune, 25th-27th November, 2022
