Media ABBYs 2023: EssenceMediacom is Media Agency of the Year, bags Grand Prix

The first of the ABBY One Show Award winners were announced at the conclusion of Day 1 proceedings at Goafest 2023.

In Media ABBYs, EssenceMediacom swept the Awards securing 122 total points. Along with being adjudged Media Agency of the Year, EssenceMediacom also took home a Grand Prix. The agency’s total metals tally stood at 20, which also included 4 Golds, 9 Silvers, and 6 Bronzes.

EssenceMediacom won the Grand Prix for ‘The Missing Chapter’ campaign dome for Whisper India in the ‘Innovative us of outdoor media’ sub-category. The agency won the 4 Golds for the following campaigns:

  • ‘Tapping Twitter to educate users on online safety’ campaign done for Google (Innovative use of social media’ sub-category)
  • ‘Let’s not just greet, but meet this Diwali’ campaign done for Coca-Cola (‘Innovative use of mobile’ sub-category)
  • ‘Dekho wicket se cricket’ campaign done for Thums Up (‘Innovative use of gaming’ sub-category)
  • ‘The Missing Chapter; campaign done for Whisper India (‘Cause marketing’ sub-category)

Second in the tally list was Mindshare with total points of 106 from 18 metals, which included 6 Golds, 5 Silvers, and 7 Bronzes. Mindshare’s 6 Golds were won for the following campaigns:

  • ‘Anandam Arambam’ – Happiness starts with a cup of Bru campaign done for client Bru coffee (‘Innovative use of audio visual’ sub-category)
  • ‘RJ Off-Air, IPL On-Air’ campaign done for Star Sports (‘Innovative use of Radio’ sub-category)
  • ‘Unilever’s B2B app reaches a new Shikhar (Peak)’ campaign (‘Innovative use of Commerce’ sub-category)
  • ‘Thumbstopping beauty biases’ campaign done for Dove (‘Moment marketing’ sub-category)
  • ‘Stop the beauty test’ campaign done for Dove (‘Innovative use of Integrated Media’ sub-category)
  • ‘Trixy Cinegame – 3 layers of fun’ campaign done for Kwality Walls (‘Innovative use of emerging technology’ sub-category)

Madison Media took home 11 metals – 4 Golds, 4 Silvers, and 3 Bronzes – amounting to total points of 68.

With a tally of 10 metals, Initiative Media was placed fourth. The agency won 2 Gold, 2 Silver, and 6 Bronze metals.

Placed in the fifth spot was Wavemaker with 7 metals (1 Gold, 4 Silvers, 2 Bronzes), followed by Lodestar UM with 5 metals (2 Golds, 1 Silver, 2 Bronzes), and Social Panga, which won 3 metals (1 Gold, 1 Silver, 1 Bronze).
