Motorola's iconic batwing logo turns 60

Motorola starts batwing logo doodle contest in India and gives an opportunity to  create your own Moto logo!

Motorola will be handing over their  iconic batwing logo to the consumers this June so that consumers  can play with it and come up with their  very own version. Whether it's a doodle, an installation or even graffiti, go ahead and show us your creative side.

The Motorola Batwing logo was introduced on June 19, 1955. The mark was designed by Morton Goldsholl Design Associates in Chicago and was revealed via a Motorola showroom in Chicago’s Merchandise Mart during a Home Furnishings show. The two aspiring triangles peak arching into an abstracted “M” form the basis of the iconic mark.

In India, Motorola is celebrating this special 60th anniversary by running a #MyMotoLogo contest across our social channels. Fans and enthusiasts can participate in the contest by simply going to our microsite and sharing their creation using the hashtag #MyMotoLogo. As the name suggests, participants are required to doodle their own Moto logo and a special jury of four art influencers will help participants to create their final versions of our iconic Batwing logo. The logos submitted will be evaluated on the basis of creativity and design innovation. Six lucky winners will get a chance to win a Moto X each with their very own customised #mymotologo on it.
