NCPCR asks Bournvita to take down its misleading advertisement

After a video by an influencer Revant Himatsingka, popularly known as foodpharma, highlighting the high sugar content of Cadbury Bournvita went viral, the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has ordered the company to remove all its 'misleading' advertisements.
NCPCR has said that after the viral video it has started receiving complaints alleging that Bournvita promotes itself as a health drink, but it contains a high percentage of sugar substances which might have adverse effects on kids' health.
In the notice issued, NCPCR has asked Bournvita to withdraw all “misleading” advertisements, packaging, and labels.
It has also asked Mondelez International, Cadbury's parent company, to withdraw all "misleading advertisements, packaging and labels, and further send a detailed explanation/report to apprise the commission in the said matter within seven days".
