News Just Arrived | Dabur acquires Ajanta Pharma's "30-Plus'

Dabur India Ltd, India's leading natural health care company, today entered into an agreement with Mumbai-based Ajanta Pharma Limited to acquire Ajanta's over-the-counter energizer brand '30-Plus'.

"We are very happy to announce the acquisition of '30-Plus' brand. For every acquisition that we make, we look at synergies which can complement Dabur's existing portfolio. The acquisition of '30-Plus' is part of an aggressive strategy to build capability on the OTC health care business and I am confident that this transaction will helps us in our endeavor to further strengthen our portfolio in this category," said Dabur India Ltd. Group Director P. D. Narang.

Launched in 1990 as an herbal energizer capsule, 30-Plus was a key brand for Ajanta Pharmaceuticals. Endorsed by Bollywood veterans like Jeetendra, it was positioned as an energizing capsule for thirty-plus males and was an instant hit among consumers in India.

30-Plus is one of the oldest and strongest health care energizer brands in the country. Dabur has identified health care as a key growth area for the future and is lining up a host of initiatives for this segment going ahead. Dabur is now focused on quickly seizing attractive opportunities this transaction has created towards increasing its presence in the OTC health care market.

As with our previous acquisitions, this deal too will offer us synergies and an opportunity to broaden the company's product portfolio to further capitalize on the emerging opportunities in domestic and international markets," Narang added.
