News18 India welcomes Jyoti Kamal as Converged Editor for Hindi

News18 India has appointed Jyoti Kamal as the Converged Editor for Hindi. This is a significant step towards advancing the convergence of its television and digital operations.
In this role, Jyoti Kamal, affectionately known as JK, will oversee the national news channel as well as the digital and social operations for News18 India's Hindi division.
Over the past year, News18 India has been steadfastly pursuing the convergence of its TV and digital platforms, and the early results have been incredibly encouraging. This strategic decision reaffirms the organisation's commitment to building a digital-centric, multi-platform news organisation.
Jyoti Kamal brings a wealth of editorial leadership experience to his new role. He has steered the network's Punjab, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and Himachal Pradesh TV and digital operations to leadership positions.
His exceptional temperament, deep understanding of multi-platform journalism, and effective leadership style make him a perfect fit for this challenging and exciting position.
JK will collaborate closely with News18 India's Channel Editor, Kishore Ajwani, and News18 Hindi Digital Editor, Dayashankar Mishra, both of whom will report to him. Under Kishore's leadership, News18 India's flagship Hindi channel has soared to the top of the BARC league table over the last three years.
Dayashankar has been equally instrumental in expanding the reach and influence of the Hindi digital operations, making News18 Hindi one of the fastest-growing players in the industry.
As of September, News18 Hindi was ranked fourth among Hindi news publishers, a significant achievement that brought it within striking distance of entering the top-three league. With the ongoing convergence of the its editorial operations, the network is optimistic about achieving multi-platform dominance in the near future.
