Microsoft appoints Takeshi Numoto as new CMO

Chris Capossela, the former Microsoft CMO, is resigning from the global tech giant after 32 years. Satya Nadella, Microsoft CEO, informed about the same to the employees along with the news of the appointment of Takeshi Numoto as the new CMO. Capossela, who studied at Harvard, took the leadership of worldwide marketing across commercial and consumer businesses which include business planning, product marketing, media buying, advertising, events, brands, etc,. Prior to being the CMO, Capossela assumed the role of Commercial Chief Marketing Officer and Executive VP. His role involved steering the go-to-market strategy and business model of the company, for the brand portfolio of it consisting of commercial offerings.
He posted on LinkedIn: "As Microsoft maintains our focus on empowering our customers in the Era of AI, I am honored to step into the role of Microsoft’s Chief Marketing Officer reporting to Satya Nadella. I am inspired by the opportunity to discover new ways to positively impact our customers around the world and proud to lead Microsoft's Marketing organization and collaborate with such an exceptional team of marketers. I want to congratulate Chris Capossela on the lasting impact he has made on our company and our culture during his 32 years at Microsoft. I’ve had the privilege of working with Chris off and on for over 15 years, and I am truly grateful for his leadership, mentorship, and friendship.
