No ban on the release of Deepika - Ranbir starrer Ram-Leela

In a latest development, ‘the task master’ of Bollywood, Sanjay Leela Bhansali would breathe a sigh of relief as a Delhi court recalled its order for his yet-to-be-released magnum opus film Ram-Leela starring Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone.

A legal confirmation from the Eros team informed that there is no ban or injunction on release of their film re-titled as Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela and it can be released and exhibited throughout the world unobstructed.

Advocates Amit Sibal, Akshay Patil and Anshu Bhanot appeared on behalf of Bhansali productions Pvt. Ltd and Eros, while Plaintffs were represented by their respective advocates.

After hearing the Counsel for their respective parties, the court took cognizance of the last judgement, dismissing the Writ petition filed by Rashtravadi Shiv Sena against Sanjay Leela Bhansali Films Pvt. Ltd. And Eros & Ors in respect of their upcoming Hindi film ‘Goliyon Ki Rasleela Ram-Leela’ with costs of Rs. 50,000/-, wide speaking the previous order was pleased to vacate the stay order passed against the film. The said film has been certified by the Central Board of Film Certification under the Cinematograph Act, 1953 and can be released as the dated, i.e 15th Novermber 2013.

Earlier, the film had to undergo a name change from Ramleela to Ram-Leela and has been zeroed down to ‘Goliyon ki Rasleela Ram Leela’, as a result of disapproval from certain groups inclined to political and religious holdings.
