Now Colors's Laado faces ire

Indian television industry's number one channel Colors is gaining not only appreciation for its shows but is drawing a lot of flak for the content being shown in its shows.

In just a week's time the channel, which has retained a strong number one position in the small screen industry, has been slapped with two notices from the Information and Broadcasting Ministry.

The channel has received notice to explain why the programme should not be taken off air for depicting a District Magistrate as corrupt and a womanizer in the serial Na Aana Iss Des Laado.

Just a few days ago, the channel faced heat for the reality show Bigg Boss and now it's the serial on social cause Na Aana Iss Des Laado.

The notice under section 5 of the Cable Television Networks (Regulation) Act 1995 read with Rule 6 (1) (a), (d), (i) and (k) of the Cable Television Networks Rules, 1994 and in violation of the Programme Code says the channel must reply within 15 days. If no reply is received within stipulated period, it will be presumed that channel has nothing to say in the matter and further action will be taken against it ex-parte.

The notice comes just a few days after a notice relating to the reality show Bigg Boss for which the channel had been given five days to reply. The notice was for use of vulgar language and obscene gestures used in the show.
