Pearl Uppal to join Smile Interactive Technologies Group

The media world was doing business everywhere when it was learned that Pearl Uppal had decided to call it a day at Yahoo! She was director, sales at Yahoo! and was responsible for monetization across the revenue channels for the internet giant's Indian operations. Uppal came aboard Yahoo! in May 2002 and was with Rediff before that.

Adgully has gained exclusive knowledge through reliable industry sources that Uppal is joining hands with Smile Interactive Technologies Group (SITG). SITG is a Delhi-based digital services and technology company that offers media and creative services and ad-networks solutions. SITG was founded in 1999. The key personnel behind the company include co-founders Harish Bahl, Manish Vij and C P Singh and Mahendra Swarup who is the Chief Mentor at SITG.

Uppal, a DCE and IIT, product started her career with US major GE where she served for one year before moving on to Rediff as an account manager. After being with Rediff for nearly one year, she was roped in by Yahoo! India as regional sales manager and was later elevated to occupy the position of director sales. Her association with Yahoo! spans more than 7 years.

At SITG, Uppal will be contributing towards an e-commerce module aimed primarily at women. She will serve as one of the key members of the team to initiate the plan and take it forward. Uppal brings a vast experience of nearly 10 years in the space of marketing and sales to the company and will be working closely with founders of the company.
