Popular American sitcom 'Modern Family' to debut on STAR World

The Time Magazine called it "the funniest new family comedy of the year" and Emmy awarded it as "Outstanding Comedy series". STAR World, India's leading English GEC, launches the award winning American sitcom, Modern Family Season 1 on November 8th, the series will air from Monday ' Friday at 11 pm.

Today's American families come in all shapes and sizes. The cookie cutter mould of man + wife + 2.5 kids is a thing of the past, as it becomes quickly apparent in "Modern Family," which takes an honest and often hilarious look at the composition and complexity of modern family life.

The sitcom revolves around the families of Jay Pritchett, his daughter Claire Dunphy, and his son Mitchell Pritchett who all live in Los Angeles. The series is a mockumentary featuring a super cool dad, a passionate homemaker and a typical teenager making for a crazy family.

Jay Pritchett is married to a much younger Colombian woman, Gloria and is helping her raise her pre-teen son. Claire is a homemaker mom married to Phil Dunphy with three children. Mitchell and his partner Cameron Tucker have adopted a Vietnamese baby, Lily.

The series features Married¦ with Children lead star Ed O'Neill as Jay Pritchett, Julie Bowen as Claire Dunphy and Jesse Tyler Ferguson as Mitchell Pritchett.
