Rado brand ambassador unveils material magic

One of Mumbai’s premier design locations hosted a spectacular event for pioneering Swiss watch brand Rado and the luxurious launch of its latest exciting material development: plasma high-tech ceramic.

Brand ambassador and Bollywood superstar Hrithik Roshan was a special guest at the event, making a typically spectacular entrance in his usual suave and sophisticated style. Hrithik strode onto the stage against a backdrop of fire and flames which called to mind the incredible plasma carburising process which occurs at an unbelievable 20,000°C.

Rado has harnessed this amazing technology to transform white high-tech ceramic into an equally durable material but which has an amazing metallic shine – without the addition of any metal.

Hrithik was joined on stage by guest of honour, Rado CEO Matthias Breschan, who explained the pioneering plasma technique and its important role in the latest Rado HyperChrome ceramic watches.

Speaking at the event, he said: “Rado is a very technical brand and we felt it was important to explain the high-tech ceramic plasma process clearly. Rado customers tend to be well-educated and we really wanted them to understand how we are using new materials and new technology to enhance the DNA of the brand they love. Having Hrithik here too makes it an even more special occasion for Rado.”

Hrithik received one of the first pieces of the ground breaking HyperChrome Automatic Chronograph in plasma high-tech ceramic and commented: “To be one of the first people to wear this watch means a lot to me. The plasma thing just blows my mind and it’s amazing to think I have a genuine piece of modern alchemy on my wrist.”
