RIP Internet Explorer: Social media bids adieu to the original web browser
Microsoft is retiring its old browser service, Internet Explorer, on June 15, 2022, 27 years after it was launched. Over the years, Microsoft had released newer versions of Internet Explorer, with version 11 being the last, which was released in 2013.
Over the years competitive web browsers have taken over the market. In place of Internet Explorer, Microsoft has launched Edge, which it says offers a faster and more modern experience. Microsoft Edge offers a compatibility mode for legacy websites and apps that still require Internet Explorer core capabilities to run.
On the eve of Internet Explorer becoming inoperable, social media has been filled with a plethora of comments and memes bidding adieu to the original web browser that started it all.
